Our hosting company is moving to a larger facility and has notified us that their equipment move could include some downtime. Of course they will do their best to prevent a lengthy outage. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail me at hsbaseballweb@comcast.net.
2. Did you know that the HS Baseball Web is 10 years old, has grown to over 10,000 members, and is still offered at no charge to members and visitors?
The flip side of that good news is that the cost for hosting our website and forums is now approaching $10,000 per year! As the owner for the past 3 years, I have to admit that it is a bit scary to open each month's hosting bill, ranging from $700 to almost $900 per month so far in 2008.
Fortunately, sponsors and advertisers help to offset much of this cost, and several members generously donate occasionally, too. But in 2008 it has become more difficult to stay near the "break-even point" for the site. If you have never donated to the HS Baseball Web but have wondered, "Who pays for this?", now might be a great time to "Step Up to the Plate" and make a donation at http://www.hsbaseballweb.com/donate.htm. And please consider supporting the sponsors and advertisers represented on our site.
