There is a kid in our area that is a senior. He has received attention from college scouts, but has not signed with anybody. He worked hard during the winter with his fall team and concentrated on his school work vs working out with the 8-man HS workouts...approved by his HS coach.

This kid has made several State lists as a Top '04 and was selected to the All Tournament team in Jupiter. He is a great kid, high academics (was considering an Ivy League school team) and obviously is a talented LH pitcher.

Well, his new HS coach doesn't believe he has the talent to make his team.....and cut him. The kid is devastated. It has nothing to do with attitude..he was cut because in the coaches opinion he has better players. Did I mention this kid has started since he was a sophomore?

Anyway, his choices to transfer is non-existant. He can not transfer in public schools once tryouts are started and the Private schools have already started their season.

No, this is not my son, but a quality kid who is learning a very tough lesson in life. What is he to say to the recruiters who have shown interest? Do you guys have any other suggestions?

Thanks for any help
