My wife and I had the great pleasure of attending Johann Santana's 1-0 win last week at Citi Field in beautiful Flushing NY

01-- the suite we were in was open air---they have them designed so that is the weather turns bad you can leave the front two rows and go back in behind the sliding glass panel

02--- the field is unreal ---quite a change from Shea--BUT-- I did not think it was a fan friendly as Fenway PArk

03--entering and exiting needs some work especially for people not familiar with the area---parking is still a work in progress

04-- there does not appear to be a bad seat in the house

05-- the crowd was typical Mets crowd but a bit more subdued than I remember it--- perhaps because the expensive seats now have a much more adult and mature group--they are the ones who can afford the seats

06 the ushers and event staff are much more hospitable than previous even to the point of pretty ladies at the gates when you leave wishing you a good nite and a safe drive home along with the obligatory ( Hope to see you again---come back soon" farewell

Bottom Line---great nite and watched a great pitching performance by a great pitcher--- Santana may just be the best pitcher in the major leagues

TR,
Listening to WFAN after the 1st couple of games their were many complaints from Mets fans about poor sight lines. They claimed that many seats had dead spots where they could not follow the ball.
I imagine the complaints will lessen if the Mets continue to win games.

Funny how that works. Now all the complaining about their new stadium is coming from the Yankee fans. Who just happen to be playing like cr ap.

Personally I have no complaints with Citizens Bank Park, home of the world champ Phillies. Big Grin
Why is Santana only pitching 6 or 7 innings?
In seven starts he has gone 7 innings in 4, and 5-6 innings in the other three.

Does he throw that many pitches per game? His record would be better if he went further into games. I know that is the way of the game now but most top pitchers go further than the 6th or 7th inning when they are pitching as well as he is this year.
