So Stray-Rod, or A-Roid, or whatever the tabloid nickname of the moment, is making $29,000,000, and may not even play, more than the entire Astros team...and the Evil Empire has $67,000,000 of players sidelined at third base, shortstop, and first base......ah, what a great start to the 2013 season! Sorry Yankee fans but for those of us that have watched the Empire dole out these Monopoly money contracts for years as though the YES Network had a never ending fountain of cash, there is a shameful bit of satisfaction to be derived.

hokieone,
While I agree with your sentiment there is a much bigger issue brewing in the Bronx....age. The Bombers are 3X cursed this year. They are overpaid, old and on the DL. Baseball history has shown that it is really hard to win a pennant with that roster personnel strategy.
Possibly, Brian Cashman will want to jump out of a plane and break his other leg with this roster situation.

does it really matter
There are a lot more Astros fans bothered by this than Yankee fans.
I know this may come as a surprise but I believe Arod makes more money than I do.
