But Victor Conte says that the drugs on A-Rod's test can be taken orally so ....

I won't be surprised when Scott Boras comes out and says that Alex was taking an over-the-counter supplement and didn't know that it would show up as steroids.

If it gets really bad, he'll drop something in about the pressure of justifying that HUGE deal he got from the Rangers.
I certainly do not agree with anyone taking performance enhancing drugs. That being said why has who ever leaked this information only put out A-rod's name? Or did I miss the rest.
Since this was an anonymous survey who leaked it and will they be sued by A-Rod. I am not defednding the use but something sure smells funny here.
Here's a thought...let's march Bud Selig's hypocritical a** before Congress and let him explain away his annual 18 mil salary in return for the most disgraceful period of baseball history while under his watch. For him to now claim A-Rod's actions "shameful" is the most blatant example of the pot calling the kettle black. While I certainly do not condone the actions of these illegally-performance-enhanced athletes, it's high time that upper management step forth and accept their proportionate share of the blame. To now throw their cash cows under the bus for the sake of saving their own sorry butts is absolutely pathetic and borderline criminal...JMO.
I might not put all of this on Bud, but it would be a start. PED's have been around longer than just Bud's term - Kuhn, Ueberroth, Vincent, GM's, managers, coaches, less knowledgeable fans (those that don't appreciate the intricacies of the game) - all have some culpability for turning the blind eye or just their sheer ignorance.

If anyone listened to Buck Showalter on ESPN 1000, he danced around questions because he knows. And he is paid to give his insight!

HS kids (football players I knew) were juicing in the 70's. You can't tell me it started at that level and moved its way up - preposterous. You can't tell me baseball players didn't notice the enhanced strength and power of football players and didn't try to achieve those same levels.

I am in favor of every dirty little stone being unturned. It returns the game to every 5'9" ball buster out there - where it belongs.

S****r is referred to as the "beautiful game" and to some it is. I would disagree.

Baseball, in it's most purest sense, blows everything else away. It's a wonderful combination of intelligence, common sense, cunning, guile, balls, speed, strength, hand-eye, heart, attitude and any other platitude you can suggest. It's not about who can hit the longest most often.

I feel better now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Athletes are going to continue trying to get an advantage. You are never going to stop it.

Personally, I think we forget about what "happened" & try to focus on how to stay ahead of all the new designer drugs that will, no doubt, be coming out in the future.

Putting A-Rod & others on the front pages sell newspapers and makes us tune in to talk shows. Is there one person out there who REALLY believes that Barry Bonds/Mark McGuire was NOT juicing, after looking at those bodies? Hire a trainer, stay clean, play 200 baseball games a year & see if you can look like that without the help of PEDs. No way.

I don't need to follow some stupid trial to figure that out. Let's move forward and keep it cleaner for the current guys.....
