Last night was very special for our son's teammate, Kevin Frandsen, who made his MLB debut for the San Francisco Giants. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving local kid.
Kevin is a remarkable guy who never let size, lack of recognition, or even personal tragedy stop him. Despite high school success, he was offered only one college scholarship by the end of his senior year. He signed, went on to lead their conference in many areas each season, but still went undrafted as a college junior. At the end of his college senior year in 2004 the Giants took him in the 12th round and he’s made the most of every opportunity since. Good things can happen to those who persevere.
