This is a basketball story. Many years ago after a 3,000 miles drive from Aberdeen, MD, to the WSPG located in the desert of New Mexico. It is the largest land base in the US Army. As a "raw" 2nd LT [ROTC]

I ask the Company Commander "where is the basketball court"?

He said no officers play. WHY? It is a metal Quonset Hut and you will be intentionally "fouled".

During the games I noticed a 6'4" player in combat books "dunk" the ball. His name was Sam Jones a future Boston Celtic, NBA Hall of Fame and my friend for life.

"When you play sports remember someone is watching" "Do not be lazy, study and learn the game".

Bob Williams

PS: during my 21 months at WSPG our baseball and basketball teams won two 4th Army Championships
