AABC Connie Mack Qualifier in Arizona

It is harder than the CMWS because of pool play. You grin for three days just to have the right for bracket play. If one of the DBAT Mustang teams does not win, there will be a first timer going to the CMWS.

Both DBat teams in the field of six with the little brother undefeated. Two impressive squads.

Wow...Has a 17U team ever won this tournament?

The worst possible scenario happened when Tucson won that game.

Final 4 is Dbat 17, Dbat 18, Dbacks Elite, and Tucson. Dbat 17 vs Dbat 18 at 7pm tonight.

Is there a place to find rosters for these teams?

Ballgame. Dbat 18U beat Dbat 17u. I guess its over as i just checked on gamechanger. They will rematch in the championship if i had to guess. I think the DBat 17u is just too stacked to lose the next one. We shall see. Looks like the DBacks elite are pretty good. I dont know much about Tuscon. DBAT 17u according to the bracket above has already beaten both of them.

Wow just now saw the updated bracket. Didnt know that was how it was sat up. Dbat 17u got punished for being the number 1 seed. It should be DBat 17u vs dbat 18u in championship. Dbat 17u lost so they should be playing the dbacks elite. But the losers bracket gets a bye? If anything the DBAT 18 u should get a bye since they just beat the #1 seed.

Which DBat 17u and 18u teams are these?

No...both Dbat teams have had byes in the bracket while DBacks Elite have not.3 teams remain all with a loss....all 3 will have had 1 bye.
Very clean result.

Just looked at the bracket. Thats the only bracket ive ever seen where you cant figure out where the teams are going after a win. Should have been Dbat 17U vs. Dbat 18U in the championship.

That's not the way AABC brackets work. Brackets are sort of "dynamic" to keep the number of byes even and match up teams that had not played toward the end. Pretty standard for AABC.

Congrats! How many years in a row does this put a DFW team in CMWS?

I could be wrong but I think it is 4 years in a row D-BAT has gone to the CMWS and I think it is 7 out of 8 years total. I believe I was corrected last year on this same question. The Houston Miracle was the one team that beat them about 5 or 6 years ago.

I asked DFW not Dbat. I know Dbat isn't the only DFW team to go.

No you are correct. Tigers went in 2006 and 09 I believe and the LH Wildcats went back to back around 04 & 05. Other than that you would have to dig the archives back to the 80's I think to find a Dallas team. That is a great trivia question. Maybe someone out there knows?

The word at the tournament was that the AZ Dbacks were the stacked Arizona team this year. I heard this early in the week before the Dbacks made it to the championship. We were suprised as well that the Firebirds got bounced early.

Don't be suprised if you see the Firebirds in Farmington. Ron will re-tool before the state and regional tournaments.

New Scout, The Dallas Mustangs went to Farmington in 2003 and a bunch of times in the 90's.

That's a good point. They were not together then. Ok other than the Mustangs what other Dallas teams that have made it? I heard in the 80's that the Police Department had a team that went and was good.

Have there been two from Dallas in the same year? Yes I believe the Tigers and DBAT were there the same year.

Guts team won this tourney in 2010 , and was 1 game shy at Farmington!! wow what a team that was ! SWAC heard a bird pooped on your head there!!
