AABC/Premier Rumor

I just heard that the AABC state tournament in Austin was cancelled because the Premier teams that had state bids had decided to not to go.

I know that AABC will not be happy if those teams accepted state bids and did not go. So I doubt those teams would burn that bridge

Any truth to this??

Does anyone have any info. on this tournament What teams are in it etc. or on the "Premier" group in general?

By not going to the state tournament doesnt AABC put you on probation for a year or two? I think they ban a team from postseason play in AABC if you skip on your state or regional tournament. Who knows what they would do if a team skipped out on a WS tournament, maybe a public lashing!

Some of the upcoming tournament brackets includung Premier are posted on our front page. We dont have the 18's bracket yet but should have very soon.

This whole premier thing sounds bogus to me. Anybody that would conspire to intentionally cause a youth tournament of any kind to be cancelled is in it for the wrong reasons.

How about getting word from one of the Premier teams before spreading such rumours.

I don't know if it is correct or incorrect. I apologize, my comment on rumours was directed to LBJ.

I would be very surprised if it was correct. I don't think those coaches would intentionally do that to the players of the teams who were left in the cold.

The way it was explained to me was - coaches didnt want to deal with scheduling conflicts with area codes/aflac - especially this year. You still get the crowining event toward then end of summer - and you dont get your roster hammered. Win/Win.

I would think it would be more appropriate to name the teams involved instead of continually referring to the supposed move as a "premier action".

I know of at least 4 teams that did participate in the AABC tournament(s). Not sure about any of the other 9.
