A&M-Corpus Christi names Scotty Malone HC

Congrats to Malone... he is a great guy... think he started at TCU, then McMurry?? UTA then Las Vegas... glad to have him back in the state... great coach/recruiter...

when I say "started" I mean in the coaching ranks... not playing... heck of a player that won two state championships in 5A (or was it three?).. at Abilene Cooper...

My son attended a camp of his, during his UTA days, and he was one of the most approachable coaches I have ever met. He provided great feedback and timely follow-up on his camps and kept an extensive email list going at all times.

Texas AM CC is getting one heck of a great guy in this coach. I wish him and the team much success and I would like to pass on a hearty

He must be pretty good, as he was up against some formidable competition. Other candidates for the job included TCU recruiting coordinator Todd Whitting and Rice recruiting coordinator David Pierce.

He is a great guy and this is great news. He was one of the most helpful coaches I talked to when recruiting my son. He even emailed me when my son had a great outting. He was a class act and when they didn't make my son an offer he advised me like a mentor. I had talked to him near the end of the season and we were lamenting the teams bad record.
One of my friends was there at A&M CC for the last 2 years but I think he graduated this year.

Scott and I go way back. He is a great coach and will have much success. I will recommend to my players that they consider A&M Corpus Christi.

Scott has also been at Kentucky and UT-San Antonio.

It all makes sense. Over the years, I have respected your posts, admired your coaching style and we have counted on you numerous times to give great coaching advice/direction.

Scott and I have made the rounds in the coaching profession...he at the college level, me at the HS level. I have stayed in touch with Scott at all his stops. I wish more of my players would have signed with him, but that is OK.

Hopefully, I can get a "pipeline" going with him at Corpus and/or where ever else he winds up at!

Older was recruited by, and had two years under, Coach Malone...

Simply can't say enough good things about him...great mentor... great communicator...great recruitor...players loved him...hated to see him go but always figured we were very fortunate to have him and figured he would soon be headed on to bigger and better things...
