Yeah, I figured he was scamming. I started to recommend a "sure fire" daily regimen to gain 10 mph in a month:

1) easy three mile warmup run
2) running a dozen 400-meter sprints at 80% effort
3) 12 60-yarders with speed below 8 seconds each
4) And an hour of plyometrics

Then I thought he might REALLY be 310 pounds and I killed him!

I've certainly known 17 year olds who top out in the mid-50s, and we had a kid on our HS team who was about 270 pounds.

I clicked thru your slide show: Too much obscenity and booze. On the other hand I'm utterly impressed with anyone who builds and flies RC planes. Welcome to HSBBW!

As for getting in shape, I'd start with a daily program of walking. There's lots of medical evidence that brisk walks can do just about everything running can do (just takes longer).

Look into entering some of those weekend 5K charity walks and try to improve your time over several of them. (You probably should run this regimen past your doctor first)

You may find that your pitching speed improves dramatically as you lose weight. Leg strength is vital in pitching, but your legs are struggling just to hold you up now.

Of course do some long toss and much later a few sprints to develop explosive power.
