I have to start by saying I LOVE this website. I've been reading everyday since I found it. GREAT INFO!

This could be a long message, I will try to keep it brief.

Short version...It JUST dawned on me how good my son really is at baseball. He's a 2006 OF/P. Don't get me wrong, I have always been very proud of him and would across hot coals before I would miss a game. I love watching HIM PLAY baseball. Local parents, coaches, and board members have been telling me the last couple years how "good" my son is. Yes he is a "good player" but an old coach asked me..."so I take you all have been looking into Div1 schools" (ok I'm a MOM...have never paid much attention to "divisions")..So I started researching this. Oh my gosh what an eyeopener I got...

I watched his dad play in HS, then he picked a college and went there and played baseball..it was easy as that! I had NO IDEA what a JOB it is to help him make decisions that could so drastically affect his future.

Getting to the point...Since this will be the summer before his senior year in HS, is there anything we should be doing for him other than getting him to camps and showcases? It seems, from what I've read, most parents/athletes start this process WAY earlier.

He is going to a camp over spring break and we are trying to get him into some showcases this summer. He wants to go to as many showcases as possible this summer and not play Legion, is that a good idea or not?

My son lives, eats and breathes baseball. If he's not PLAYING baseball he's TRAINING for baseball. I feel like I have let him down by not realizing his potential and what it would take for him to accomplish his dreams.

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Tom,

Way to go and step up and offer to help those folks.

Coach May, you are exactly right, and this site has helped countless players and families over the years since Bob came up with this great idea.

Despite the feuds with the troublemakers on here, makes you feel good to be part of it, huh ?

Also now that tryouts are underway and seasons are about to take off, we become more tolerable of one another on here. laugh
