Allow them to make outs. In close situations run so that you are out if the throw is on the money but safe if it is 3 feet wide or high and the tagger has to pull it back.

If the guy throws a perfect low strike to the tag kudos to him.

On the other hand you dont want to be reckless. If you just run and hope for an overthrow but you would be out by 15 feet if the throw is on target that is not good baserunning although it can work at low levels due to all the errors. You at least should have a chance to beat a throw and not just run and hope for the error.
