I wanted to give an update on Al Alford. Some of you know who he is and what he's done for youth baseball in the area, while others do not.

Al has been battling lung cancer for years. He has been in Baylor Hospital - Dallas with a bad case of pneumonia. Al has also had increasing dementia over the last several months.

According to Lance, the doctors could treat the pneumonia aggressively, but with the issues that Al has, that treatment would have a devastating affect on him.

They are keeping Al comfortable and are hoping to get him home in the next day or two.

Please, please keep Al and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Al is a wonderful baseball man. I will keep him in my thoughts and hope he has a speedy recovery!!!

They brought Al home yesterday. Hospice is with him 24 hours a day.
