I was just getting ready to post a thread so thanks TR. Should be a great game. Both undefeated and both outstanding teams obviously. I am leaning towards TCU but Boise is always full of surprises.

thankfully the UCONN ladies got to halftime with a huge lead so I am free for the football game---should be fun

No one is giving any love to Boise State. Go WAC!

This game and the Bama - Texas game are the only ones that I'm really interested in.... all the other games have just seemed like they mean nothing due to NO PLAYOFF

I am enjoying the game but both teams are wound tight as a drum.

The Boise quarterback reminds me of Dwight Yocum.

The TCU defensive end looks like a first rounder.

They both do look a little tight. And I agree Hughes looks like an absolute beast out there.

Given the conference Boise State plays in, I doubt they will ever start the season ranked high enough to climb up the rankings to play in the championship game.

RJM - sadly you are correct and which shows another problem with college football. Basketball and baseball have the opportunity to overcome a weak conference thru the tournament. But football doesn't have this luxury obviously.

Boise St is a very young team and the next two years could have a legitimate shot at being a national championship if they were given a chance (plus stay healthy).

I doubt Boise State has the talent and depth to survive a three or four game playoff run and win a championship. I don't believe they would win ten games playing tougher competition week after week in one of the major conferences. But a playoff can create a Cinderella. Who would have guessed Fresno State would win a baseball championship.

If a playoff included eight teams there would always be the controversy of the ninth and tenth team not making it. But at least it wouldn't be about undefeated teams not having a chance.

If a Boise State makes the playoff with their easier schedule, more major conference teams will want to play them during the season to prove they belong instead. Right now most major conference teams look at playing teams like Boise State as a nothing to gain and everything to lose proposition.

Guys, the game was awesome. Both teams' fans were fired up and it was as loud as I've ever heard including the 2007 Fiesta bowl game. Great experience, both teams pulled out all the stops.

As a TCU alum, I was pretty disappointed that my team didn't perform as well as it usually does. TCU's QB had a rough night and Boise State's defense did what was needed to shut the Horned Frogs' offense down. That fake punt on a fourth-and-9 was the nail in the coffin. Gotta give the Broncos kudos for a great trick play!

Congrats to Boise State. They were certainly the better team last night and here's hoping they end the season with a #2 national ranking.

I have to give Boise State credit, they have built a program that is competing each year and have now gotten past the "Flash in the pan" reference.

I wish they could have played FL in the Sugar Bowl. I think that would have been a better test and if they had won, would have given them the boost in 2010 pre-season ranking consideration that their weak conference will not provide.

Boise has set themselves up for a nice pre season ranking somewhere in the top 5 for sure. They play at Oregon State and early in the year in DC against Va Tech. If they go undefeated next season they will have a great opportunity to play for the NC.

Great game last night...one of the best bowl games so far... to both teams for great season...

BYU once won a national championship coming out of the WAC by starting at a reasonable spot in the polls and staying undefeated through the season. I was at the Holiday Bowl game they beat Michigan 14-7 for the championship. This was pre BCS.

I think he's talking about the GMAC bowl tomorrow night, Coach. Central Michigan vs Troy. Seeing as the Federal Gov't is now GMAC's majority stockholder, maybe the Prez will do the coin toss? I hear he'll bring donuts.
