Saw him pitch while at UCSB. He along with Dillon Tate were part of a dominant, feared weekend rotation. Good for him, give some spotlight to the Big West 
Shane is an inspiration to kids who walk on all over college baseball. Just keep working and working and you never know...a chance to contribute might come around. The UCSB coaches deserve a lot of credit for being willing to elevate a walk on to that level and he rewarded them for their faith in him. Incredible now to see what he is doing in the Show.
He's an awesome kid. My son caught an off-season bullpen for him 2 years ago and as a thanks he gave my son his UCSB spikes (said he wouldn't be needing them any more).
