Alternative Type Surgery to Full "Tommy John"

I read that earlier today.  Nice to know there may be options on the horizon that are not as impactful to the player in terms of time lost away from throwing.  Will be interesting to watch.

So it depends on the severity of the tear whether it works or not?

My impression from the article is that there are factors that determine eligibility, I would guess severity and perhaps location of the tear are among them.  It seemed like they couldn't determine eligibility until they were actually in there so the pre-op imaging must be somehow insufficient.  I would think that like TJ surgery, it will improve with time and may provide a repair option that is more easily recovered from than TJ currently is.
