ha basically. its a shame though.
Player against:
The mere fact that you can identify a Coach on a National forum is proof unto itself. I have yet to hear the denials about the outing on Spring Break. Perhaps the Seniors can enlighten us? or perhaps one of our daughters or sister of a player? This statement by you confirms my worst fear: " and now we find out that he protected members of the team? i see what you mean he really is horrible". If you are going to bars with High School girls and boasting about it to High School boys, then you have more troubles than losing a coaching job. I am deeply concerned.
• He friended his players on facebook...
An adult who hangs out with teenagers and friends them on facebook, and posts pictures of himself and the assistant Coaches drunk pouring beer down their mouth... This is inappropriate. At the very least it shows extremely poor judgement, no matter what the nature of it.
• Regarding one of Seniors that quit:
You said "It wasn't punishment it was a bit of fun conditioning to get our legs ready for the regional game"... You left out the Pop quiz for the boys: "What was Joe Blow's number? now run it"... Nothing but ill will was meant by that to a good kid who simply excelled in another sport. Shame. You agreed for this boy to participate in two sports and now you villainize him?
By the way, what happened to the other Coach that left at the same time the Seniors did?
• Regarding the Coach quitting JV:
Yes he did in quit in 2007 - your memory is short. He sent an email to everyone citing a players lack of performance for the year and then quit. Yes he quit. I received the email that year... we all did - He was the JV coach then. There again, demonstrating his lack of sound judgement.
Make no mistake, I am not discrediting the program, or any of the parents, or kids. You and your friend are not fit to have oversight of teenagers. I agree, parents should have no say regarding decisions on the field... but you know as well as I do this has nothing to do with that.
It should not matter if you won a National Championship, you have completely missed the point. It's not about you. It's about our kids and your actions. You don't have kids, so you have no clue.
I urge you and the Head Coach to quit. You are getting a "get out of jail free card" -- take it.

This will probably now play itself out in the proper forum, which is where it should be, and sad to say, hitenrun may very well get their way. That will be unfortunate for the players.
But again, we need to look closely at hitenrun's allegations, which can easily be made to sound like truths, and consider for a moment how dangerous this forum can be.
Three seniors quit: basically, that gives it away. But of these, one was running track on the day of the regional game, and made a choice. The other two had not played for the previous seasons, and saw little playing time, and also made a choice.
Drunk photos: What in the world is a drunk photo? And by the way, anybody can post a photo to a facebook page.
The Aids comment: This coach has made a point of recruiting African American kids onto a team that is predominantly caucasian, but in a school that is predominantly African American.
Spring trip: One person's "brag" is another person's statement of what happened. And there were tons of parents on this trip, and do you really think this is what a first year coach would do on this trip? Parents talk to each other all season, and this is where we hear about the coach's alleged behavior? Folks, consider your own experiences. Is this realistic?
Coaches everywhere, caution - there are hitenruns lurking everywhere.

Greenmonster,
Check your facts, you cannot post photos to a page unless you are invited to be that person's friend. So no, not everyone can do it. Furthermore, did you go with the Coaches on their night out? How would I even know about the incident, if someone had not talked?
So let me get this straight. You have no problem with adults friending kids on facebook and posting photos of themselves pouring beer down someone's throat? Do you have photos like that of yourself? You are willing to overlook adults asking high school girls to bars? You are willing to excuse chewing tobacco? You see nothing wrong with sending out an email about a players performance to the entire team?
You have gone out of your way to defend the indefensible.
My question, is why? What is your motive to keep such influences? Only you can answer that.
You should advise these young men that they need to go away. As I see it only you, me and the 2 Coaches are aware of this post. I have not gone to the Principal, I was hoping I would not have to. I can say with 100% certainty that there are others that can confirm the facts. I prefer not to let it come to that.

first let me get this out of the way. im a player. if you want to you can send me a private message and we can stop hiding behind fake names. i have no problem with that. also you are so focused on saying bad things about my coach that it seems like you dont actually read the other posts, just pick and choose parts.
How many high schools had 3 african american seniors quit and 1 was because of track. and from those how many had something like that happen on spring break? 1! your just repeating your points and thinking youve caught us all in a clever little trap.
the spring break trip? i talk to the girls who were there and they said no one invited them anywhere. they were down there for beach week and they randomly showed up at the same club. so again you twist the facts to make your point.
and last time i checked he was over 21 and theres nothing illegal about that. also from reading what you wrote about facebook you only know things from what you learn from sneaking onto your kids facebook without him knowing.
obviously youve never heard of a joke before. obviously it was punishment. again you dont read the other posts. player for team already told you that we ran to show that we are a family and when one leaves we all feel it. it wasnt mean it wasnt crule and we were in pretty good shape at that point so it wasnt to hard. after we ran we felt closer to each other and NO ONE hated the senior that quit. i talked to him and we had a good laugh about it. you twist the facts again when you say he agreed to let him play 2 sports. he did but only if baseball took priority over track. our coach was even soft on that and let him go to some track events over baseball events.
quitting jv? i dont have a short memory but you have a bad one. it was a jv assistant coach who typed the one bad part at the end and it ended up being forwarded to everyone. that jv coach offered to quit because the head coach had nothing to do with it and was, and still, taking the blame for it. get your facts strait.
by posting the on a national website and complaining about the coach you discredit his program, his kids, and you discredit the parents by posting this. i am one of those teenagers who you think need better coaches and when you say its not about me your wrong. it is about me. its the players team not yours and we all want our coaches back next season. if you dont believe me i could have every single player posting on here defending our coach. its not just on field its with the entire program. we have a great boosters program and thats where parents should be involved, not determining in our coachs are good enough, which they are.
your ignorance is incredible. most of the players on the team know about this post and are really angry about it. this is our coach your talking about him and i can say with 100% certainty and every single player in the program will stand by him and fight for him to stay because of people like you who twist facts in order to make something happen that no one but you wants to happen.
please please please please send me a private message. heres how we can do it. i dont know how to privately message on here. just send something saying who are you. ill respond with my name. you can respond with yours or not i dont care. if you dont believe who i am call my house my cell anything. this can stay between you and me but if you had any belief in what you say you make your name public to the rest of the team so they can really know who you are and what your saying about our coaching staff

Close the thread - these Coaches are in trouble. Save them from themselves.

Cleveland dad,
Please understand that this largely appears to be one disgruntled parent trying to run the coach off the team. The vast majority of parents, many of whom were on the spring break trip, are supportive of the coach. I am one of those parents.
Hitenrun says I defend the defensible. "Friending" players on facebood. Well, this is a widely used form of communcations. "Drunk" photos. Come on. The guy has about 500 "friends" on facebook, any of whom can put photos on his site. And again, what is a drunk photo.
Why do I defend. Because I am troubled by people going on a public forum and spreading a bunch of negative innuendo that doesn't hold up to the light of day. Hitenrun is citing incidents that allegedly happened several months ago. Simply not credible after basically the entire season has passed and nothing was ever said.
And I defend on behalf of the many players who have worked with this coach for several years now, and will be seniors this year, and whose season hitenrun's crusade puts in jeopardy.
Alas, hitenrun might get their way in this case. At that point, I can assume they plan to address each and every member of the team and explain themselves.

Greenmonster,
Where do you draw the line, Counsler? Essentially these guys have no rules. Is that what you are saying? "Hey, have a drink with my teenage daughter at a bar... and while your at it please give a little skoal to my son".
Innuendo? No, fact. If there is nothing to this, then why do you fear I will get my way by asking for their resignation?
I have not seen one coach post on this forum say that this is acceptable behavior. Not one.

close the thread you started? i hope its not because every single point you made had holes poked in it and most of them were just lies.
i guess you didnt like my ideas of talking to the coach or privately talking to a player because that would involve facing the issues directly instead of hiding behind a fake name and posting your problems on the web.
I hope you talk to each kid involved in our baseball program because i would love to see you try to explain to each of the 32 kids in the program that because you, a parent in the stands, didnt like some things our coaches did, we won't have them back for what will be our best season ever.

I think everyone has had their chance to express their views in this thread. Our forums are not the place to have these types of he said/she said battles. If people are having a problem with other people, please take it up with them directly. This is not the place to air those issues imho. Thread closed.
