My son gets an email from a DII school. Coach tells him they are interested in him, would like him to come a particular day to throw for them and see school and please apply to get the process started. My son emails back that the particular date is not good because of testing but is willing to come any other day. My son calls on both office and cell, leaves messages, applies to the school and a week later no answer. The Coach emailed him, with interest, sounding like they really want him, gives phone numbers, etc. and then no calls. Am I going crazy or just getting anxious? (even though he has other good offers already but would really like this one)

I would have your son reply to the lastest email with his LAST saying...

Coach,
I've replied to your emails on x/x/xx's and called 555-555-5555 on these dates and left messages. I want to make sure that I am using the right form of communication. I am very interested in your program and have already applied to the school. I hope we can touch base soon. However, it may be easier to contact me via my phone at 123-456-7890. I have also copied Asst Coach Joe Blow with this email.

Sincerly,

What more can you do? Don't put all your eggs in one basket, keep lookin.

Mom246,
There may be some legitimate reasons why the coach hasn’t returned your calls yet. This was the Thanksgiving weekend that just past and he might have been out of town (for one reason).
I would not give up if your son is interested in this program. E-mail and Phone communication (or in this case lack of communication) is not always an indicator of interest in your son as a student athlete.
I agree with rz1's approach.
If I thought that every time I didn't hear from someone meant they were not interested in me, I wouldn't have any friends. Wait, I don't.

Keeps the communication going from your side. When you finally get a response, you will have a better feeling for what they think of you son.

Good Luck
