"The best possible score on the SAT is a 2400, a score achieved by just hundreds of the more than a million students who take the SAT each year. The average SAT score is about 1540".
Just letting all of you parents out there that might not know, most colleges (in Texas the only major college I know of as an exception would be Texas A&M) take the best score from all the tests combined. Meaning, if I got a 600 on math the first time, 700 the second time, then 600 the third time, when calculating the score, they would take the 700. Texas A&M takes the best overall score from one test, and the scores a student got on that test are the scores they look at. It can be confusing... but I had no idea about this until earlier this year.
