If anyone is interested, Joe Kelly from Angelo State pitched one heck of a game for the Edenton Steamers of the Coastal Plain League last night.

His line was 7 inp, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 bb, 6 k's for the win.

If I am not mistaken, I believe that Joe is from the Round Rock area.

Speaking of Angelo State, ASU first baseman Clay Calfee is the 74th highest draft prospect in Texas, as reported by Baseball America.

Here's some info on him from angelosports.com:

Angelo State first baseman Clay Calfee received two more postseason honors on Tuesday when he was selected to the 2008 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association Gold Glove team and the Daktronics All-American honorable mention squad.

The 6-6 junior who hails from Conroe is the first-ever Ram to be selected to the Gold Glove team. Calfee set a Lone Star Conference record with 510 putouts, breaking the mark of 499 he set last season, and committed only six errors to finish with a .989 fielding percentage.

Calfee's offensive numbers were even more impressive as he led the Rams with a .517 on-base percentage, 75 runs scored and 24 doubles, all tops in the LSC. He finished the year with a .418 batting average with 63 runs batted in and 13 home runs, which tied the school record for long balls in a season.
I wrote "Key" in my notes, but typed out Kelly everywhere. Between work, coaching t-ball, and updating my site, the names all start to run together.

As for the Mizzou guys--I am slowely working on a database so that I can easily look up these players. It's not ready yet.

Mizzou usually sends a few to the Northwoods, MINK, Jayhawk and CICL. Isn't Senne playing with Team USA now? He was supposed to play in the Northwoods League.
