Is Pine Tar Gate going to hurt baseball's image again or should baseball just say "that is the way it has always been".

Pitchers are trying to doctor the ball and batters are using protection and corked bats and both are "using" to get bigger and recover faster.

Teams are using humidors (sp?) in mile high stadiums or MLB were winding the balls tighter...

Can you say playing tables even and that is just the way it is and you say play ball!

It seem to me the only ones who are NOT bitchin' or have "issues" are the teams. I think in the last few years the media has created a "fan monster" in all sports who is fed by the networks and many times feels they are bigger than the game. Let's get back to what fans do best and that's enjoy our favorite pastime. The last thing I want to do is turn on the tube and play "Where's Waldo" while looking at pitchers body parts trying to find the hidden substance. Unfortunately I will volunerally miss the pre-game tonite because I'm sick of those non-players throwing their views around, then repeating it, then repeating it, and finally repeating it. In the end they have said nothing. I wish someone would tell them they're missing a great series.

Baseball will be just fine with or without pine-tar. Just look at the competition:

1. College Football - Miami U. vs. Florida Intl.
2. NFL - T.O., Battered Women, etc., etc. etc.
3. S____er - World Cup Head Butt, Fan Riots
4. College Basketball - Players driving Hummers.
5. NBA - Individual sport played with 4 other individuals.

Maybe this is why the MLB and players settled on a contract so easily. Good for them.

Didn't LaRussa manage Mark McGuire? I made myself laugh.

No kidding Dad04, that's why everyone talked about it but the managers. IT'S a common practice.
Let's put it to rest.

BTW, how are ya?
