Local HOF baseball coach let go after "inappropriate" comments.  Not clear what he said.  Maybe some locals here know.

It's a crazy world out there.  Have to watch every step.  No wonder why our coaches won't get on a kid for not hustling.

FYI, Here's the article about his previous job.  Took some kids to the "track."

Given that none of the online stories about this are willing to print anything more than "inappropriate comments", it's difficult to know how justified a firing it might be.  Based on the story about his previous contract not being renewed, it does seem like he may have been making modestly poor decisions with regards to managing a group of teenagers of the sort that would likely get a HS coach in hot water around here, too.  Though I'm reasonably sure that HS head coaches can't coach travel teams (or at least their own HS players) in the off-season here.

High school coaches may coach their own players throughout the summer, on both summer high school teams and travel/tournament teams. The IHSA sets the the contact period which typically runs through the last weekend in July, and unlike other sports, their is no maximum number if contact days for baseball. So a high school coach could have players play or practice every day without a violation.

Yes.  And some of the issues with his prior school was that his county wide youth travel organization was rumored to essentially be a "feeder" program for the high school.  The word was out that you had to play for so and so organization to play at the HS.  I'll bet that wore thin on some people.
