Short and sweet.....3 starters....each has 3 starts this season

A) 7.56 ERA   1-1 record  16.1 IP

B) 3.38 ERA   0-0 record  16.0 IP

C) 10.56 ERA  1-2 record  12.0 IP

One of the 3 is moving to the bullpen "to help win games".

.....EDIT:  I guess I forgot to add.....Guess which guy is moving?

FYI....bullpen has 1 guy with 13.0 IP, 21K  1.37 ERA....another with 8.0 IP, 2.16 ERA....neither of them is going to be the new starter....they're staying in the pen.  The rest of the pen guys are 8.00 ERA and up

Offensively team has scored 3 runs or less in 8 out of 13 games which would seem to make the decision all the more curious lol

I'd develop a theory about what has happened. How is VELO? How is location? Are pitches being tipped? Is the catcher turning strikes into balls? There are so many variables; but if you're coming from a one or two bid conference, it's way too early to be making panic wholesale moves. So you make moves around the margins; week day starter to weekend, Friday goes to Sunday. But the season is long and too many teams run out of arms early. I'd also caution against converting a bp guy - many relief pitchers aren't ready for the totally different job of SP.

To a coach the season whizzes by; to the parent its measured in dog years.

(But, believe it or not, a silver lining can await the pitcher who finishes the season with innings left: some summer leagues are way, way, way more fun to play in then the college team.)
