The sad thing is most names have not come out yet. The market is much bigger than the public realizes.

And what is even worse is the chemists and dealers will always be ahead of the authorites.

Of course I am opposed to performance-enhancing drug use, but with the pressure to perform and the money involved in pro sports is anyone really surprised this goes on?
I know that creatine is naturally produced in our bodies and that one needs to drink a lot of water when taking it....Is it as bad as a number of well-respected and well-read dietitians say it is?

I'm also aware that it is highly suggested and highly used....but do you think that there will be long term consequences for its use? Like steroids, like so many prescribed medications.....

From all evidence creatine is safe. Besides Gatorade, creatine is just about the most highly studied "supplement" there is. It is highly unlikely it will ever be banned, but you never know.

The majority of the bad press surrounding creatine is written by highly uneducated (in this specific topic) individuals.

As with anything dealing with health and fitness, mainstream media screws it up. Get your info elsewhere.
I am in no way any advocate of steroids.

My question is what was the greater advantage of someone like Barry Bonds, the alleged use of some kind of steroids, or the HUGE advantage of growing up in MLB. My goodness, his Godfather is Willie Mays, father Bobby Bonds, his whole life he was learning the secrets of MLB,

I tend to think that was a far greater advantage than any accused steriod use. From recent articles steriods seem to be very available to all who want them MLB or otherwise. Learning the game from the inside by Major Leaguers seems like a major advantage - mentally more than anything. JMHO
