The fastest kid on my block was the only one who did not get his pants ripped out of the bottom by Billbow the dog up the street that terrorized all of the kids in our neighborhood

The finger is used to convey many different messages but I question the validity of it being an accurate speedometer. I'll bet money the "finger fortune teller" checks to see if the newborn has two feet (of equal length) before he/she measures the length of the ring finger.

looks like he thinks it's hogwash.

My son has very long fingers which help tremendously when trying to make a pitched ball move in a particular direction. As to foot speed, he was one of the slowest players on his hs team last year.
