First time since spring of 1994 that my kid will not be directly involved in a baseball season...hot stove period doesn't hold the same excitement for me this year.
Or go to watch other kids play...found myself at a 8-9 year old game one early Saturday morning. I am a baseball junkie and my hobby is watching baseball whether I know the players or not. Luckily I have a son still playing college ball, although I can't get to all of his games, I have been known to drive 10 hours to watch a Saturday doubleheader of his.

Sound like us. Our son is at a Div II JUCO that is 5 hours away. Season starts in about a month. We can't afford to go to every game or go down every weekend - probably once a month). So when we don't go we plan on attending the local HS games - we still know several of the players and parent.
well, don't think a trip hasn't crossed my mind...(I feel like he & his classmates had a lil' contribution to why this event might be taking place )...but...
Me...1,200 miles away Him...1,600 miles away (and doing a little artillery officer learnin' at the time)
