Here is my son hurling the ball this weekend.

He has been going to a pitching coach over the past couple of weeks, and the results have been great with increased velocity, and a lot more control. I know pretty much nothing about form, and I know there are some good baseball minds here, so I thought I'd see what you guys thought.

I know you are in Temecula, perhaps you can contact Dennis Rogers at RCC, Riverside Community College. He has a great program and some of the young pitchers he has are very talented and very good at working with young pitchers. They have a mini-camp next Sunday for Defensive fielding, the players work with the boys and you can talk with them about lessons.
prior_fan_22...he is 12 years old.

HCD & FBM...thanks for the recommendations. I'll definately take a look at those 2. He ended up taking quite a few lessons from Kyle Kane, who is now in FL pitching for the Devil Rays farm system in Durham. He was a former #1 draft pick by the CHI White Sox back in '97 who lives here in Temecula. He put a LOT of emphasis on mechanics, and taught me what to look for to keep his arm healthy, and what kind of flaws to look for when he starts to struggle. My son responds really well to coaching, so I am really looking for someone to continue his training while Kyle is playing with the big boys.

We're off to Arizona this weekend to play in a triple-crown tourny...I'll let you know how he does!
Yes the Picture is very diffucult to tell but i think I see a couple of things. His arm is dragging a little bit, and his glove side hand is pulling away from his body which puts mor strain on his rotater cuff. when you pull that glove side away from you body it has a tendecy to open you up and drag your arm. Which can put alot of Strain on his arm. When you in your motion you want that arm to be right up against his chest, Like his chest is falling over His glove hand. Hope I explained it To where you can understand it. As for teh lower body i cant really tell form the picture but keep this in mind Speed and power not only come from the Upper body it has to do alot with the lower body.
Hi There,
It is a little difficult to tell from a picture, but I agree with Coach Barrett regarding possible drag on the arm. It looks like he might be opening his upper body a little soon...again, difficult to tell for sure from a picture. Also, a lot of velocity and protecting the arm comes from using lower body to help. It looks like he might be o.k. here, but can't tell for sure. I am in the Temecula area and I do private pitching and hitting instruction. I would be willing to meet with you briefly (no charge) to see if I can pick up anything in person. You can call me to get my qualifications if you'd like. Greg at 951-764-2262.
