We are playing nothing but 60/90. I don't see the value of 54/80 other than to pump up the egos of the more physically mature kids. For us, that knocks us out of USSSSA tourneys...unless we play up at the 14U level....whic we will do.

We are playing going to AAU Nationals in Myrtle Beach, we are going to Ripken in MB in early March and the BCS Regional in Richmond. Many of my kids will be on school teams so our schedule will be limited in the early part of the year.

redbird5- I will disagree to a certain extent with you regarding 13's and 54/80. I think it's a great transition size for that age group- especially in the fall. These kids are still growing and I've found that the transition helps them stay tighter fundamentally. My analogy would be a little kid shooting a basket on a 10' rim. Your technique is going to suffer.

We do intend to play mostly 60/90 in the spring and summer but I found the transition really helped. BTW- Done this for about 25 years and tried it alot of ways. This seemed to work well.
