Our son has been through several of their clinics and camps and we've been impressed. Run by Jose Rijo, ex major leaguer. Solid values, play the game right, very detailed and deliberate and customized instruction in all phases. they field some showcase teams each year that play in tourneys in AZ and California. Good staff of full time, young ex players.
I think the ABI is new but I also think they know what they're doing.
Yep, that's true about Jose...I misspoke. It is an excellent facility. By the way, the American Baseball Institute is run by Nieman Nix, who recently left the Rijo folks. I think he's a pretty good coach.
If you are looking for a good baseball program try Baden Baseball Club, Taylors, Seattle Stars, or Chaffey, a kid will get good instruction, play against the best competition, and many college and pro scouts go to their games. Plus each program has the goal to get a kid ready for college first and foremost.
Yes, the pitchers are trained in a methodology similar to that of Dr. Mike Marshall, using wrist weights and iron balls. It's a bit unorthodox, but Neiman Nix does a great job there.
