Anyone know of one any higher?
Attached is a photo of the backstop at George Mason High School in Falls Church, Virginia. The stadium facilities are nice but the backstop is unbelievably big. Apparently sufficient consideration wasn't given to allowing that foul balls go backward, which happened to be heavily travelled Interstate 66, so the backstop was increased in size. Supposedly if it was a bit higher, a strobe light would be required by the FAA. The height was necessary as the Virginia Department of Transportation initially shut the field down due to foul balls landing on the interstate. The tallest poles are roughly 4' in diameter at their base. The little thing in front of the plate in the middle is a person....
