We have had two long standing members of this baseball community to pass away. I did not have the pleasure of really interacting with either one of them. After reading posts made about them and going back and finding some of the stuff they put on here I believe I missed out on a great oppurtunity.

Is there anyway someone can create a "page" or section of the members of this community who pass away to honor them. I was thinking of putting their screen name, real name, town lived in, teams they coached and (not sure if this is possible) a link to all their posts or threads.

I don't know if this is possible or even something the people in charge of this website are willing to do. I know I have learned a lot and have started making friends on here but there are people who have been here longer and know more than I will ever begin to even think about knowing. I kinda thought it would be nice to honor those who have made an impact through this website.

If anybody has any ideas on how to make this work please feel free to share them.

I hope I have not offended anybody with this because I wanted to do something that would remember and honor these great people.

I, too, cannot recall ever interacting with these two individuals but they both seem to have been large contributors to this community as well as their hometown communities and the baseball community as a whole.

If this dedication page is something the community would like to produce and Julie okays it, I would be happy to offer my time and design capibilities to make this page or set of pages a reality. I will not claim to be a great web designer, but I do have a few college credits in web design and development that I will offer to put to use.
Coach, you are right on and it reminds me of a topic for the HSBBW hall of fame. I thought it was a good idea but I also see that it can lead to trouble.

I had a coach 30 + years ago - Coach George. I only wish I could have told him how much he meant (and still does) to me.

I think the biggest compliment is what I have taught me son..... Ask my son about Coach George. He can repeat every lesson and story about my Coach so his legend lives on.

One of my favorites was actually a basketball game against a big time rival, I had just fouled out and he insisted that I sit next to him - I thought he was going to go off on me. There is about a minute or so on the clock and we are down by 3.

He casually leans over to me in a very calm fashion says watch this.

Next call from the official he goes off and gets tossed. It amazed me how claculating he was - yep we ended up winning the game.

End of story, he made me run 10 suicides for every dumb foul I had at the next practice.

I will never forget Coach George and neither will my son!

I dont think you can truly document legends - you know who they are and so do I. But we can share thier knowledge, attitude and the fact that we wouldnt be who we are without them.

I think when you get to heaven there is a coach's only line....problem is its management is run by the men in blue
