Arc Park

Talk about a "riches-to-rags" story!

Lots of great memories!

Was in the area about a month ago, and drove down to the fields. I can remember the days, where if you wanted to go where the best played...you had to go to Arc Park. LOTS of great memories and some great ballgames played there.

Sorry to see it go down the way it has.

There was a group, back in May, that was trying to arrange to lease the property and restore it. Because I know the folks who were trying to get this done, I can tell you that Arc would have been restored to a top-notch facility. However, the current owners would not budge on a long-term lease. Therefore, I guess I need to refer you to PD's poetry post in another thread..."They paved paradise..."

I played a LOT of softball there years before I got to watch my son play baseball on the same fields.

I slept a few nights in the parking lot back in the "beer" league days out there.

You too? I had to come there from work one night and pick up my wifey for a trip to the ER. She did not ever learn to slide real well!

Speaking of Arc Park, I saw where John Davis is starting the Reds back up. There's another icon from the past!

John's a great teacher, glad to see him get back into that aspect of the game.

What we need is for John to schedule a few tournaments, the drought would be over in a matter of a few weeks.
