As a former coach I would hear the same opinion of some of my player's defensive skills while the offense might not be as strong.

I would often start the better offense/average defense player over the better defense/average offense player until such time the game allowed me to strengthen the D to hold a lead.

I can only assume the coach knows what's best for the JVA team success and knows your son would not develop with them due to little play time. He may feel he would develop offensively with the JVB and become a better player for JVA next season.

Good luck to him.

Thanks for the input. I sent the Head Coach an email and told him I respect his decision but wanted to know what can my son do better since the assistant Coach told him was a good player and hard worker. My son still felt that there was something else, so the Coach wrote back and said he would talk to him today. Mind you I don't want and expect the Coach to change his mind but rather know the reason so my son can work on it. "You can't improve unless you know"

I am but know that The Coach (Head) said if the parents had any concerns contact him which I did but not to intervene. I agree he needs to handle this and he is.
