To add a little more information, you also will need a scout's recommendation.

The Area Code Games is one of the premier events of the summer. Players recommended for the tryouts by scouts are generally considered pro prospects and those selected for the games are the best of those.

Just being invited to a tryout is an honor. The tryouts are attended by 30/40/50 scouts/recruiters. The AC Games in Long Beach are attended by 300+ scouts and recruiters. One of my favorite pictures that I took that summer was of about 150 radar guns rising in unison as my son threw his first pitch at Blair Field in Long Beach.

I have pictures just like that. Wink

The AC Games at Long Beach last summer was a very memorable and exciting week for us. We got to see some of the best players from across the nation.

Plus our son got to hang out all week in the bullpen with one of his cross town rivals and they have since become friends. Now it is a friendly rivalry. Big Grin
