Arlington Heights' Walker Kelly

I have been following LHP Walker Kelly, a sophomore at Arlington Heights H.S., ever since he basically single-handedly beat my son's junior league team in the Texas West state championship game a couple of years ago. I saw that he threw 92 mph at a recent PG showcase. What's the word around D-FW about him?

Walker pitched against our mixed DBAT Team this fall and I was very impressd with his performance. I believe he is playing with the FW Cats this summer which is part of the BBI Premier League so we will get to see him at least twice.

The PG website said he played for the Midland
Redskins out of Cincinnati (Ken Griffey Jr.'s select team when he was in high school). Was this for last summer?

it was a joke, slick, and My son playing at Grapvine has faced him this year... He has a wild fast ball at first, but once he gets it over he will stay there. We actually hit him really well but he did get the LUCKY win.

Perfect Game recently listed him as one of its "Hot Prospects." Here's the report, dated 4/10: "One of the top 2008 players in the country. He is hitting .473 (26-55) with 25 R, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 1 HR, and 8 RBI. On the mound he is 6-0 with a 2.50 ERA in 28 IP and has 49 K, 11 BB, and 18 hits." Wow.
