I wish writers would check facts, and do a little more homework before reporting as if they are the final authority on subjects. This guy wants to use the UNC staff as an example, then singles out Alex White. Here are the dates, innings pitched, and number of pitches thrown for Carolina's pitchers during the CWS:
--Alex White
-----6/15,7IP,107
-----6/19,2IP,29
-----6/21,2.2IP,34
-----6/22,1.2IP,18--(13.1IP,188)
--Brian Moran
-----6/15,.1IP,21
-----6/17,.2IP,13
-----6/19,1.1IP,26
-----6/21,.0IP,2
-----6/22,1.1IP,36--(3.2IP,98)
--Rob Wooten
-----6/15,1.2IP,29
-----6/17,3.1IP,59
-----6/19,1IP,9
-----6/21,1.1IP,31
-----6/22,.1IP,18--(6.2IP,146)
--Adam Warren
-----6/17,4IP,76
-----6/22,1.2IP,43--(5.2IP,119)
--Matt Harvey
-----6/19,2IP,29
-----6/22,5IP,82--(7IP,111)
--Colin Bates
-----6/19,2.2IP,50
-----6/22,1IP,24--(3.2IP,74)
--Rob Catapano
-----6/22,1IP,21--(1IP,21)
--Tyler Trice
-----6/22,1IP,19--(1IP,19)
--Alex White's role shifted to that of relief pitcher after 4 days rest which I think sheds a different light on his total pitch count. I also think that UNC has very good Boyd's World rank. You might also want to know that I am a life long UNC fan and alum, so maybe my view is skewed. I also have a son who is a pitcher, and I see nothing in those stats that shake me up.
