I am a recently turned 15y/o LHP. I also am a football player (QB). I obviously put a high amount of stress on my arm year round. Now, soreness from both of them occurs in my elbow (the inside mostly, but sometimes almost the entire elbow) primaraly, and the pain seems to be chronic as I have had it as long as I can remember pitching/playing QB. Just to clarify, when I say the inside of my elbow, I'm refering to where the "funny bone" is. I took off about a month total from throwing of all sorts this summer (roughly two weeks twice). And I must admit, vissualy my elbow's swelling appears to have improved. BUT, the pain still occurs, although inconsistantly. I know it is not severe enough to be a tear or anything like that (father=doctor) although I feel like it is a problem in the making. I cannot afford to take time off now, and I won't be able too for a while.
My question is the following: Is there anything I can do to improve my elbow's situation that does involve rest (AKA during the football season)? I know that is an open ended question, but I leave it so purposely so any suggestions apply.
I, like always, apologize for the long post.
I appreciate any advice that anyone has for me. I would be delighted to speak to anyone personally if they had simular situations, or are knowlegable of arm care/pains etc.
