IMHO though I think ARod is an outstanding talent none-the-less he is just another player in the MLB. If that were not so he would still be with the MLB team he started with.

Question is every year, where are the other players on his team after his efforts have help get them to post season...no where to be found is the answer.

In addition, continual tearing down of the best players in BB goes to the heart of why so many players develope an indifference to the fans and help to alienate them from any identification with the communities where they play.

This is a complete change from the way players were treated many years ago. I don't blame Bonds or ARod for turning their backs on the fans and the press. It would seem to me just normal reaction in defense of their own self-respect. JMO
Look at Roger Maris, during the '61 season the Yankee fans turned on him because he was quiet and kept to himself. Then again, I understand that he wasn't a New Yorker and it was his second season with the ballclub, but they didn't start backing him until he broke Ruth's record (of course with an *, to be removed later).

Alot of fans are fickle and the press will say just about anything to sell a paper or two.

It would be Lugo v. Arod. I don't believe Sox ownership would let money get in the way of acquiring a player of Arod's ability. It would also be a huge hit on the Yankees to lose him to the Sox. Then you might see Cashman fired.

i have to disagree about the way players are treated now. years ago players lived in your neighborhood and walked to work, stopping to play a little stick ball along the way. had to work in the off season to feed their familys.
they are the very best players in the game. GAME. they make more money than 98% of the country playing a game. they haven't cured any disease, brought peice to the world ,they play a game.for lots of money. that isn't their fault they get paid so much,it is their choice to do it. while i don't agree with things that are said about those players ,they do little to disspell those slams. it's that indifference to fans that fuels the fire. if a-rod played any place else but the al east, no one would care that he chokes in the post season.
they are only human, but so are the fan's. an i'm sorry i'm not getting it done or yea i took this to try and help the team. that would go along way with the working class guy. i remember this quote (it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.)that won't work with the press ,but it is a nice thing to remember.
