Prayers from Iowa
JT, the update sounds promising....and prayers continue....looking at this thread made me realize.....what a great "baseball family" we have here. That is also a blessing; especially when prayers are needed!
JT...With prayers and best wishes for dad and the family from your friends in Chicagoland.
Thank you, again, everyone. The docs have no idea what happened or why. All tests were clean. They are going to keep him in the hospital for a couple of days as they adjust his meds.
That's good news JT...thanks for letting us know.
Excellent !!!
Great news - thank you for the update - hope things continue to go well
JT ...
Praise God. May the good news keep coming.

Whewwwwwwww!! Good good news!
Dad is doing much better...
...will be in the hospital for a couple more days, but his heart rate is steady and holding in the low 60's...and usually it is jumping around all over the place. Maybe it's finally been shocked back into a good rhythm. Thanks for all the prayers.

Glad to hear he's progressing well buddy.
JT,
Hope all goes OK, I miss my parents as they both have passed on.

Well...
...he should be on his way to Vanderbilt right now. He sounds very weak, worn out almost. It worries me so please keep him in your prayers.

JT ...
Most definitely keeping him uplifted in prayer ... I am sure the week has been exhausting for him but hopefully he will bounce back once he is settled in at home (after his stop at Vanderbilt).
Also lifting you and your family up in prayer ... I am sure it isn't easy.

JT,
Thinking about and praying for your Dad and family, please update when you can.

Yes, please do. And add my prayers that your Dad continues to do better.
Again...thanks so much for the prayers and PM's over the past week.
Dad is doing better, sounding stronger. The docs at Vandy have decided to manage things with different medications and adjustments on his old meds. He will probably be there through the weekend, so they can monitor him. I may try to drive down and see if I can convince him to come up to my house and recuperate.
(update to the update)---445 PM.
Dad won't be able to travel for a while. The docs are going to put in a new defibrillator, just to make sure he has the latest technology. Between that and the adjustment to the meds, it does not look like he will be able to travel up here to watch Jeff, Jr play in two weeks.

Just got off the phone...the news gets better...
...he gets to go home tomorrow. Will not be getting the new device for a month. He'll find out tomorrow if he's OK to travel in a couple of weeks.

I just saw this and am also sending my best. We who have aging, and much beloved, parents (who still are their grandchildrens' greatest fans!) are all, I know, so cognizant of the gift we have been given. My dad has been such a wonderful counselor to me over the years. Best wishes for your dad's quick recovery and continued health.
JT, I hope your dad is out at the ballpark soon. It looks like the prayers of HSBBW's members have been heard.. God Speed.
JT
Its best that your Dad get out in agreeable weather and just relax and kick his feet back, Maybe take in a couple sporting events?
I pray for a full recovery.

Dad is home and sounds a lot better. They adjusted and add meds, so they will monitor him to make sure they don't mess with other functions. Not sure if he will make it up mid-March or not. At least now he has Spring Training news to look forward to.
JT,
I am glad your dad is feeling better and hope he is 100% soon.

I'm glad your Dad is home. It always feels so much better to be at home and sleep in your own bed, eat your own grub. Hospitals, needed but not a place of rest! Hope things work out so that he can get to the ball fields soon.
