Seems like he's been waiting forever, watching his friends shoot up all around him. He's now 14.5 years, and is suddenly firing on all cylinders. He's grown a full, official inch in the last 3 weeks. He's happy as a clam - hope it keeps going for awhile!

It is totally a **** shoot. I was stagnant myself from about 7th grade until I was 19. NINETEEN!! At age 19, I added the final couple of inches, and a very unexpected broadening of the shoulders and chest. Hadn't touched a weight, but when I returned to college for Soph year, everyone asked me where I'd been working out. The body is a weird thing and any charts and graphs for growth are mere approximations with a WIDE margin for 'error'.
David Robinson, top 50 NBA players of all time, entered Naval Academy at 6'5" (Max height allowed). David graduated 7'2".

Dennis Rodman, bad boy of NBA, graduated HS at 5'10" but played NBA at 6'8".

Krakatoa- congrats, my son, 14 and 7 months has finally started his growth spurt as well. Ended summer ball at 5'3" and now is 5'5".

I love the Freddy Patek quote!
All right, looks like we've got some hormones on the move! It would be great to see one of those 8-inches-in-a-year spurts, but what's happening now is at least promising! It's funny, a few weeks ago I was in the kitchen doing something and saw someone coming into the room out the corner of my eye, thinking "Who's this stranger?" Turned to find my son cruising in......
