Coaches do you own either and would you recommend one or the other? not sure if 60 mph is enough w the rookie or if 85 of the hummer is needed. We would bus using primarily for defensive work and bunts.

I've had an atec rookie for about 10 years, and highly recommend it.
I've used it a lot, primarily because I try to set up a bunting station at most of our practices. It's reliable, simple, and very portable. Mine throws dimple balls about 68mph and baseballs about 65mph.
Age of players is 16-18 yrs.-old. We have found 65mph to be adequate for our purposes, which are the same as yours.
If you would like to use the machine to throw balls into the OF gaps or deeper than your outfielder's regular depth (like for fly ball priority, for instance), then I'd go with the hummer. We have a rookie and the 60 mph exit velocity struggles to make it to our outfielders.
