Well let's see. Sherman is a relatively small town north of Dallas, near the Oklahoma border. That means it is a conservative kind of place. The Bible Belt. Whether one finds the area attractive is a matter of taste, but you are talking the plains. When my brother was there, he did a lot of bird hunting, don't know whether that's still the thing. Knowing my brother, bird hunting could have been code for drinking in a field with a bunch of guys.
I looked at the roster and two things struck me. First, there's a fair number of folks from out of state. Second, several of the in state players are from towns I've never heard of, and I lived in Texas 50 years. I assume these are some very small towns.
Being in north Texas, it gets hot in the summer (May - September) and cold in the winter, but doesn't stay bitter cold all winter. The wind blows sometimes and the thunderstorms are awesome, especially in the spring. It is in tornado alley, so there will occasionally be threats of torndados. That doesn't mean there will be tornados, but I'm guessing if you didn't grow up with it you would need to get used to it. However, not much seismic activity.
Sorry I don't know anything about the baseball program.
