Check for times, and I believe it's live
When my son was playing preteen ball I informed my coaches I couldn't make it back in time for a weeknight game. I was in Canada on business. When I appeared at the end of BP they asked how I made it. I told them it took driving 140 all the way to the airport. You should have seen the look.
Yes, it is warm in Australia from December to March [summer].
When I drive in Australia, it is on the left side of the road.
The "steering" wheel is on the right side of the car.

Temp are measured at 40c = 110º.

Australia Winter league has been very successful for 2 years, since MLB has provide a "security blanket" necessary for survival. The average attendance
is 2,000 per game and the players are from Australia, Japan, China, Korea, USA. This is a "great" experience for American players.

The country is the size of USA with only 20 million of population, concentrated in the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, Western Australia. The league supports the cost of flying to the distance cities during the season.

In previous years this was a high cost to each team. MLB also has an Academy on the Gold Coast for the young Australian players who can sign at age 16.

Wouldn't/shouldn't this be illegal?

I mean, it's quite noticeable.

Can't a pitcher use rosin whenever he wishes?

#24's dad posts in the Texas forum.

Many of these guys looking for a milb contract.

Heat took the championship. Smile

What a NAME to have as a Pitcher!

milb has Moniker Madness every year where people vote for the best names for player.

Bubbie Buzachero is always a favorite, I don't think he has won, so use your imagination how good the other names really are!
It was interesting to hear that MLB supplied the uniforms, money, etc. to help the ABL, and we all watched on the MLB channel..and it would seem to be a little safer alternative than the Mexican League or some of the "Island" winter leagues, so perhaps we see more of the ABL in the future...

Good golly but did that green grass and people in shorts watching baseball look sweet or what.

6 days till Pitchers and Catchers Report Day (unless you're a Mariners fan that has already had PACR day.).

I may be wrong but since they dissolved the Hawaiian League, there aren't too many safe places for most pro ball players to play winter ball.

Latin america, and mexico with their issues aren't as desirable anymore.

It makes sense why they do support this and another place to find FA as well.

Catchersdad's son, Alex (SF Giants) played his winter ball for the Perth Heat this winter and had an outstanding stint down there. Had to make his way back to to the states a couple of weeks ago, so didn't get to see him play on TV this weekend.

If you're out there Alan, I hope all is well. It was good to see Alex back at the complex last week.
