What would you say the average community college pitcher fastball is?

I presume you are speaking of top out speed...the peak that can be reached 2 or 3 times in an outing.

Most CCs have many, many bench pitchers and two or three stars who do most of the innings. Bench dwellers: 78-86 mph; stars 81-88. 90 is rare in juco despite what you hear. You don't have to throw fast to be a starter, but it helps. Plenty of high 80s guys rot on the bench if all they have is speed.

This refers to average D-1/D2 jucos. Subtract about 3 mph for D-3s which don't give scholarships.

Doubt you'll get much debate on this subject because most jucos own guns and some use them frequently.

Thanks for all the replies. I ask because I will be trying out for my JUCO baseball team (either Skyline College in San Bruno or Canada College in Redwood City,CA) and I havent playeds a full season since I was 13 or 14 but I have played off and on and was always told I had talent, I am now 17 turning 18 In late September. However the last month or so I've gotten back into it. So now I got gunned and I was throwing my fast ball on my first outing between 76-80. And I haven't since been tested on a gun but I'[ve been working frequently. So I think I am higher now. I also have a nice little curve and a very tricky Changeup so hopefully that will help too. Thanks for anyone who responded to this.
