I know what you're thinking, another one...

Last night I called a pitcher for a balk and it is a serious HTBT, but I'm going to go for it anyway

Runners on first and third...

Pitcher, all in one motion, fakes to first. I let it replay in my mind and I was like, hmmm...that looked funny, so I go "That's a balk!" Immediately the coach said "he stepped off!" Coach is a nice guy and everything and he wasn't trying to show me up, I know this for a fact.

Now here is my question, I replayed it through my head again and I do know that the pitcher seemed to step back slightly, but before his foot was really disengaged, he spun to first. I was always under the impression that this could not be done all in one motion, hence, it looked funny to me, hence, the balk call.

The coach ended up coming out to ask about it, and I said he wheeled to first in one motion, no hesitation, and faked. He just I asked a question and I gave him an answer, there was no yelling. Basically, I know this was a HTBT situation but I want to know if you guys call this the same way, with regard to showing me that you have truly disengaged. Just like I told the coach, this is one of those that I always call and with balks in general I have to call this type because it is so blatant, and most of the time (I guess except for this situation), it is so easy to prevent this kind of balk from happening.
