Balk Question

Did the ump give any indication as to why he called a balk? There is nothing illegal about the pitcher standing on the back of the mound with the ball.

If the ball was live you have an out. If the ball was dead then you have nothing.

Unless there is more info than you provided I don't see a balk in your situation.

Why was the runner leading off of first base when the pitcher wasn't engaged with the rubber?????......Do kids watch baseball anymore??????....Do the people who try to teach kids to play baseball ever watch the game?????.....Extremely common sense to me....sorry I couldn't bite my lip anymore.........

The previous pitch was fouled off, so the ball was dead. I have no idea why he called the balk, maybe because the pitcher never touched the rubber?

should be NOTHING

Ump blew the call.

After a foul ball, the ball can not be put back into play until the batter is in the box, the pitcher is on the rubber and the catcher is set.
And then the PU puts it into play.
