balk question

Based on the age, I agree with what you did. I found that at the early ages, umpires are teachers too.

bigger question to me is why are they calling balks in a 10U game....

No I didnt...and yet I will offer this ...

Calling balks in an age group where the players rules knowledge and baseball skills are lacking is folly.... all it ends up doing is confuse and frustrate the players and ends up in more errors...

If you couple this with umpires who arent confident with the balk rules, you can have a mess on your hands......

Calling balks at these young ages forces the umpire to assess the infraction based on the age and ability of the participant...something that the balk rules do not allow us to do.........

but to your question at a level that it matters, the move in the OP is a balk

How is there any answer when there is no question? It is a statement. I must have missed something.
