I had a play yesterday at a park the ball was hit in fair terroritory where the grass meets the dirt the ball bounced out of play like four feet past the line that is used for out of play cause there is no fence. The fielder picks up the ball up and throws the runner out at second is the ball dead is he awarded second or does he stay at first or is he out?

I think we all would like to help you here, but you are not telling us the information needed to assist you...

here is what we need....

from your posts, I am getting that a bloop fly ball was hit towards 3rd base...... the ball has fallen in fair territory and went out of play into dead ball territory.......

Is that correct?....

If so here is what we need......

Did the ball travel past 3rd base on the fly before it landed fair?.........reason Im asking is that you state that it hit fair territory where the dirt meets the grass....

If this is an all dirt infield then the ball hit clearly after the bag.....if it hit the cutout before the bag on a grass infield then this is a different ruling...this is a crucial point.....trust me on this...

once we get this we can attempt an answer for you...
