In Tampa some of our catchers were fortunate enough to have been given some catching lessons in the past from a great coach named Mike Compton, currently a coordinator in the Phillies system. Ironically, he had instructed 4 of the catchers in this year’s World Series (as a catching coordinator for the Rays and the Phillies.)

Well, Mike had invented a tool that he used in batting cages to pick up balls. He made these for his pro teams and in some of the instructional facilities around the area, and are now available for sale to the public. It picks up 20 balls at a time and speeds up the process.

They are available to be viewed at http://www.theballhawg.com

Mike is such a great guy and has had a positive influence on several young and old catchers alike. He is one of those blue collar type hard working guys in baseball. The tool is so unique so I thought I could share it with the rest of you, so I asked MN-Mom and she said ok.
